Energization Procedures
1. First, install the rear cover panel, then securely close the front lower door.
2. Operate the grounding switch main shaft to place it in the open position.
3. Use a transfer carriage (platform cart) to push the withdrawable unit (which must be in the open position) into the switchgear cabinet (to the Test Position).
4. Insert the secondary plug into the stationary receptacle (the "Test Position" indicator light will illuminate); then securely close the front middle door.
5. Use the operating handle to rack the withdrawable unit from the Test Position (open state) into the Service Position (the "Service Position" indicator light will illuminate, and the "Test Position" indicator light will extinguish).
6. Close the circuit breaker withdrawable unit.

 

De-energization (Maintenance) Procedures
1. Open the circuit breaker withdrawable unit.
2. Use the operating handle to rack the withdrawable unit from the Service Position (open state) back to the Test Position.
3. (The "Service Position" indicator light will extinguish, and the "Test Position" indicator light will illuminate).
4. Open the front middle door.
5. Withdraw the secondary plug from the stationary receptacle (the "Test Position" indicator light will extinguish).
6. Use a transfer carriage to pull the withdrawable unit (which must be in the open position) out of the switchgear cabinet.
7. Operate the grounding switch main shaft to place it in the closed position.
8. Open the rear cover panel and the front lower door.

 

Note:The lower surge arrester withdrawable unit and the middle (or lower) PT (Voltage Transformer) withdrawable unit may be pulled directly out of the cabinet while the busbar is energized.
